SRP Federal Credit Union Visa Debit Cards and Visa Credit Cards have many features to help keep your accounts safe. This Help Guide will offer assistance with the Card Control and Card Management features located within online and mobile banking. 

Card Control gives you the opportunity to turn your cards ON or OFF and to setup various types of alerts about your card activities. You can access Card Control from both SRP Online and SRP Mobile! To find the Card Control feature in SRP Online, you need to login and then click Digital Self Serivce > Card Self Service > Card Control. To locate Card Control within our mobile app, SRP Mobile, you must login, select "More" located on the bottom right of your screen, scroll down to the "Card Self Serivce" menu header and then tap on "Card Control."

Card Management allows you to report your Visa Debit or Credit card lost or stolen through online and mobile banking. It also allows you to cancel a card without having to call SRP. Card Management will be found next to Card Control in SRP Online and SRP Mobile.

Card Control - Change Card Status to ON or OFF

To deactivate and reactivate your card, simply click to slide the bar to the on or off position.

Here are some reasons why you may want to deactivate your card:

  • Security - Deactivate a card that you don't use often. Reactivate it when you want to make a purchase, then turn it back off again.

  • Lost card - Deactivate a card that you've recently lost to prevent it from being used while you look for it. If the card is found, you can turn it back on again. If the card is permanently lost, please call us at 803-278-4851 to cancel it completely and order a replacement.


  • If the card is permanently lost, go to Card Management to cancel it completely and order a replacement. See "Card Management - Report Lost/Stolen" for details.

    Card Control - Alerts and Control Preferences Overview

    This is where you will set up and edit the Card Declines and Alerts you wish to receive. You can block and/or receive alerts based on Location Type, Spend Limits, or Transaction Types.

    To specify how you want to receive your alerts, either as a push notification, SMS text, and/or email, click Alert Delivery Options.

  • Send Alerts for - Used in conjunction with Transaction Type and Location Type settings (see below).


  • All Transactions - This selection will automatically turn on Alerts for all Transaction Types and will not allow you to turn them off on an individual basis. If you have selected this option but want to be able to turn off some of the activated Alerts, select "Preferred Transactions" instead. This will allow you to pick and choose which Alerts you receive.


  • Preferred Transactions - This selection will allow you to choose which Transaction Types will trigger Alerts. If you have enabled this option, you will be able to turn Alerts on or off at will. Please note the corresponding Alert will always be enabled whenever you block a transaction; however, this setting will allow you to set an Alert without also being required to block the transaction.


  • Blocked Transactions Only - This will issue Alerts only for Transactions that you have blocked. If you would like to set Transaction Type Alerts without also having to block the Transaction (for example, you want to be notified if your card was used to make an online purchase, but you don't want to block online purchases from being made), select "Preferred Transactions" instead.

  • Card Control - Transaction Type Alerts

    Set up alerts and/or block activity based on Transaction Type.

  • ATM - Block and/or receive an Alert if your card is used at an ATM.


  • eCommerce/Online - Block and/or receive an Alert if your card is used to make an online purchase.


  • In-store - Block and/or receive an Alert if your card is used to make an in-store purchase.


  • Mail/Phone order - Block or receive an alert if your card is used to pay by mail or phone.

  • Card Control - Location Type Alerts

    Block and/or receive an alert if your card is used to make an in-store, foreign transaction. This block only applies to transactions made in person. Online or eCommerce transactions are not affected by this block.

    If you enable a Location Type block, alerts are automatically activated.

    Card Control - Spend Limits Alerts

    Block and/or receive an alert on any purchases over an amount specified by you. You can enable one or both options, and the amounts do not need to be the same.

    To block, click the slider bar to the right to turn the option on. In the If the amount is greater than field, type the amount in whole dollars, without a decimal point. (For example, 500, not 500.01.) If the block is active, you will not be able to use the card to purchase items over the set limit. Turn the block off by clicking the slider bar to the left. Click the Save button to save your settings.

    To set an alert, click the slider bar to the right to turn the option on. In the "If the amount is greater than" field, type the amount in whole dollars, without a decimal point. (For example, 500, not 500.01.) If the alert is active, you will get an alert if the card is used to make a purchase over the set limit. Turn the alert off by clicking the slider bar to the left. Click the Save button to save your settings. Note that the alert will not prevent a purchase over the set limit. It will simply notify you if an applicable purchase has been made.

    Card Control - Alert Delivery Options

    Select the alert delivery method(s) you would like to use by sliding the selection bar beside each option on or off. Available methods are:

  • Push notifications

  • SMS text alerts

  • Email alerts


  • Alert delivery methods must be set up in SRP Online or SRP Mobile to be available for Card Control. To set up Push Notifications, go to SRP Mobile > More > Digital Self Service > Settings > Push Notifications > Interact Messages (slide to "On"). If notifications are turned on and you are not receiving alerts, toggle the Push Notifications setting in Card Control off and back on.

    To add or update your email address or mobile phone number, go to SRP Online > Notifications > Settings or SRP Mobile > More > Digital Self Service > Settings > Alerts & Notifications.

    Card Control - Who Controls the Cards

    The primary member is the only one who can log in and have sole control of the joint cards. Remember to never share your login information with anyone per SRP's eBanking Agreement.

    Card Management - Report Lost/Stolen

    Choose this option if your card has been permanently lost or stolen and you need to cancel it immediately to prevent fraudulent activity. Please note that once submitted, this action cannot be undone. Upon confirmation, you will no longer have access to the reported card. If your card has simply been misplaced and you would like to temporarily deactivate it with the option of reactivating it later, please do not report your card Lost/Stolen. Instead, go to Card Self Service > Card Control and change the status to Inactive.

    1. Select the card you wish to report and choose Report Lost/Stolen.
    2. Was there fraud?

  • Choose "No" if the card is lost.

  • Choose "Yes" if the card was stolen or you see fraudulent card activity in your account history.

  • 3. Was your PIN lost/stolen?

  • Choose "No" if your card is lost and you do not believe your PIN has been compromised.

  • Choose "Yes" if you believe your PIN has been stolen.

  • 4. Issue a replacement card:

  • Check this box if you would like to order a replacement for the card you have reported lost/stolen.

  • Card Management - Cancel Card

    Choose this option if the card is still in your possession, but you no longer wish to use it and want to cancel it permanently. Please note, this action cannot be undone. Upon confirmation, the card will be permanently cancelled, and you will no longer be able to access it. On the other hand, if you would like to temporarily deactivate your card with the option of reactivating it later, please do not cancel it. Instead, go to Card Self Service > Card Control and change the status to Inactive.

    Cancelling a credit card in this manner will close down the card and prevent its further use, but you are still responsible for paying any remaining balance.

    1. Select the card you wish to cancel and choose Cancel Card.
    2. To cancel the card permanently, click the red Cancel Card button.
    3. To opt out of this operation and return to the previous screen, click the Don't Cancel button.

    Card Management - Change Nickname

    Cards display in Card Management with a default nickname of Debit Card or Credit Card, but you can change this description easily. Please note that changes made via Card Management do not carry over to Card Control at this time. To update the nickname in Card Control, too, please go to Card Self Service > Card Control.

    1. Select the card whose nickname you wish to update.
    2. In SRP Online, click the pencil icon beside the card description. In SRP Mobile, tap the Change Nickname tile.
    3. Type the new description in the text field.
    4. Click Confirm to save your changes and return to the previous screen.
    5. Click Cancel if you do not wish to save your changes.
