Richmond County Health Department Employees Credit Union Members Vote to Merge with SRP Federal Credit Union

Members of Richmond County Health Department Employees Credit Union of Augusta, Georgia voted to merge with SRP Federal Credit Union, the area’s largest locally owned federal credit union, of North Augusta, South Carolina on May 10, 2017.

Roy Geiselhart, SRP Federal Credit Union’s Board Chairman, shared “This decision was the right move for both SRP and RCHDE CU. This partnership will benefit their members not only with more products and services, but also logistically with 15 branch locations to better serve their financial needs.”

“SRP Federal Credit Union was the perfect match for RCHDE CU. Their robust product offerings, such as online services and loan options, will enhance and expand the financial opportunities for our current members,” said Richmond County Health Department Employees Credit Union’s Board Chairman Mark A. Woody.

SRP Federal Credit Union’s CEO, Harry Gunsallus, is also pleased with the merger saying, “SRP is committed to our community and we were delighted with the opportunity to work with RCHDE CU.” Gunsallus also stated, “We welcome their members and look forward to offering them high quality products and services provided by SRP.”

SRP Federal Credit Union was founded in 1960 and serves over 115,000 members with $849.9 million in assets. Under SRP Federal Credit Union’s current community charter guidelines, any person who lives, works, worships, volunteers or attends school in Aiken, Allendale, Barnwell and Edgefield counties in South Carolina or Columbia, McDuffie and Richmond counties in Georgia is eligible to join.
